Stainless steel has the largest tensile strength among the metals used for metal dog collars. The wire gauge here is maximal, 4 mm. It will suit even very large dogs up to 187 lbs/85 kg. The long links are safe for long-haired dogs. They will not cut and clog dog's hair. Black plating looks stylish but will not suit dogs with light fur as may leave marks on it for the natural abrasion of the plating.
The stainless steel fur saver is a great choice for damp climate, use in wet conditions, training of your dog near water sources.
The original Herm Sprenger dog collar is proved with a quality red seal.
We sell metal dog collars by ForDogTrainers and Herm Sprenger for many years and may assure that black plated and chrome-plated metals may leave marks on light fur of dogs. Curogan, stainless steel, and brass alloys do not leave marks on light fur. However, there are some dogs that have reactions even to those metals for unpredicted reasons.
